About Premier Floats and Tackle

Premier has been one of the fastest growing brands in UK tackle over the past 8 years.

Although only launched in 2000 our roots lay back in the Early 1960 when founder Ray Sladden began to make his own floats to fulfil the lack of well designed floats available at the time.

Our Parent company was formed around 1975 as a manufacturing unit producing millions of floats for the European angling trade. Our floats were used all over Europe by some of the best anglers to have graced the banks.

We are a truly family business with founder Ray being joined by his wife, two sons and daughter-in-law.

Although now a largely automated Factory the family involvement allows us to carefully maintain a very high standard of quality. A standard of quality that many other manufacturers can only dream of.

We use only the very best float making materials collected from across the world.

Our Balsa is top quality and very carefully graded and our peacock stems are specially selected to allow us to produce some of the straightest Wagglers you'll find anywhere.

Whenever possible we continue to support British suppliers and in particular the Fishing Tackle shops that provide us all with the information we need to make the most of our precious time on the bank.

The expertise we have available in our UK based factory has allowed us to produce some of the most innovative floats seen in years.

Our current selection of Pellet Wagglers is a well renowned range being featured in most angling publications over the past year and receiving rapturous reviews.

The Mushroom Pellet Waggler is the figure head of our range and this has been used to great success by many anglers including, of late, 4 times World Champion, Bob Nudd.

With its unique 'Mushroom' shaped top it has proved to be a fantastic asset to any carp anglers float box.

We at Premier are also ardent users of our own products and are known to be pretty successful around the local fisheries taking some fantastic catches of winter Roach on the river Wissey to summer Carp in lakes far and wide.
